Wash and soak green moong dal into slightly hot water for 3-4 hrs.
Remove water with sieve and dal into mixture jar. Then add green chilli, ginger, cumin seeds, ajwain, hing, coriander leaves, and 2-3 tbsp water.
Grind dal into a smooth and thick paste.
Now, whisk the batter for 5 minutes till it becomes light and fluffy.
Then add salt and black pepper. Mix well.
Now in a deep bottom vessel (big patili) add 3 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Meanwhile, take one plate or thali (equal or more radius of patili) and spread the prepared batter with a slightly wet hand on the back side of the thali. Spread thin layer and only on the middle part, leaving the edges.
When water comes to a boil, put this plate on it. Keep the batter side down. It should take 6-8 minutes to well cook.
Allow it to cool for a while. Cut into pieces and spread peanut oil and achar masala on it. serve immediately.
