Ingredients
 

For stuffed masala

  • 1/2 cup fresh green peas
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 tsp oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • Pinch of baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ cup mashed potatoes
  • ¼ cup grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp raisins
  • 1 tsp chopped cashews
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For outer layer

  • 4 medium sized or 350 grm Mashed potatoes
  • 3 tbsp arrow root flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Oil to grease hand
  • Other ingredient
  • 2 tsp arrow root flour
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Boil fresh green peas into hot for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  • Cover the vessel and set aside for 15 minutes for the peas to cook in the hot water.
  • Drain the water and take peas into mixture jar.
  • Add peanuts, green chilli and ginger. Grind it into coarse mixture.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and sesame seeds. Sauté for a minute.
  • Add grinded mixture, pinch of baking soda and salt. Mix well.
  • Cover and cook mixture for 2-3 minute.
  • Then add grated boiled potatoes, grated coconut, sugar, raisins and chopped cashews. Mix well.
  • Now add garam masala and coriander leaves. Mix well.
  • Switch off the flame and add lemon juice in it.
  • Stuffing is ready.  Then lightly grease hands and make small sized round balls. Keep it asideT
  • Take 4 medium sized potatoes and grate them with grater.
  • Now in a mixing bowl, add boiled mashed potatoes, arrow root flour, salt and prepare dough like mixture. .
  • Take a ball from prepared outer layer mixture and using greased hands lightly flatten it like a puri shape.
  • Place small size stuffing ball in middle and lifting from the edges close the pattice. Give it a ball shape.
  • Prepare all pattice in the same way.
  • In a plate take 2 tbsp arrow root flour and roll all the pattice one by one coating it well.
  • Now heat oil on medium flame and fry 4-5 pattice at a time.
  • Once they are slightly cooked then turn it over and cook till golden brown.
  • Take it all fried pattis on paper napkin and serve hot.

Notes

  • green chilli paste, sugar and lemon juice proportion enhance the taste of patties.
  • cool down boiled potatoes so outer layer of patties become crispy.
  • grate boiled potatoes so outer layer of patties become smooth and even.
  • if arrowroot powder is unviable than use corn flour or rice flour instead of it.
  • seal patties properly so inner layer will not come out at the time of frying it.
  • fry patties on medium flame.
