Ingredients
 

farali dhokla and handva lot

  • 2 cup or 400 grams sama rice
  • ½ cup or 100 grms sabudana

Farali dhokla

  • 1.5 cup farali dhokla lot
  • 1 cup curd
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp eno fruit salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • Coriander leaves.

Farali handvo

  • 1.5 cup farali handva flour
  • 1 cup curd
  • 2-3 tbsp water
  • ½ cup grated lauki
  • ¼ cup coriander leaves
  • 2 tsp green chilli paste
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp eno fruit salt

For tempering

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • Some curry leaves

Instructions

  • In a mixture jar, add sama rice and sabudana and grind into coarse powder.
  • Store into air tight container.

Farali dhokla

  • Soak 1.5 cup flour with 1 cup curd for 30 minutes.
  • Now add little water and make dhokla batter consistency.
  • Then add ginger, green chilli and salt. Add 1 tsp eno and mix it into one direction.
  • Pour batter into grease mould and sprinkle black pepper powder and coriander leaves on it.
  • steam dhokla for 20 minutes on medium flame.
  • Take out steam dhokla from steamer and cut into pieces.
  • Serve farali dhokla with green chutney.

Farali handvo

  • Soak 1.5 cup flour with 1 cup curd for 30 minutes.
  • Now add little water and make handva batter consistency.
  • Then add grated lauki, coriander leaves, green chilli paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder, salt and eno. Mix well.
  • Now in a pan, add oil, cumin seeds, white sesame seeds, curry leaves. Spread vaghar in a pan.
  • Pour handva batter and spread evenly.
  • Cover and cook handva on medium flame for 15 minutes on oneside.
  • Flip it and cook another side for 10 minutes.
  • Serve crispy handva with green chutney.

Notes

  • Store farali handva/dhokla flour into air tight container.
  • Soak flour with curd so sama rice will puff up.
