Ingredients
 

For Instant farali premix

  • 2 cup sama rice
  • ½ cup sabudana

For Farali dhokla

  • 1 cup farali premix
  • ½ cup curd
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2/3 cup water or as required
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • Sprinkle some black pepper powder and red chilli powder - optional

For farali dosa

  • 1 cup farali premix
  • ½ cup curd
  • ½ +1/4 cup water or as required
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 2-3 chopped green chilli
  • Some coriander leaves
  • Oil as required

For farali appe

  • 1 cup farali premix
  • ½ cup curd
  • 2-3 chopped green chilli
  • 3 tbsp crushed peanuts
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp lemon juice
  • Oil as required

Instructions

Making farali premix

  • In a mixture jar, add 2 cup sama rice and grind it into coarse powder. Take out into mixing bowl.
  • Then add ½ cup sabudana and grind it into powder.
  • Now mix sama rice powder and sabudana powder. (Refer video)
  • Instant farali premix is ready. Store it into air-tight container.

Making farali dhokla

  • In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup farali premix, ½ cup curd, salt , 1 tsp green chilli paste, 1 tsp sugar and some water
  • Mix well and make medium thick and pouring consistency of batter.
  • Add 1 tbsp oil and mix well.
  • Cover and rest batter for 25 minutes.
  • Now add ½ tsp baking soda and some lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Pour dhokla batter into grease plate and steam in steamer or kadai for 15 minutes on high flame or till dhokla is properly cooked.
  • Take out dhokla from steamer and apply some oil on it.
  • Sprinkle some coriander leaves and cut it into square pieces.
  • Serve dhokla with chutney.

Making farali dosa

  • In a mixture jar, add 1 cup farali premix, ½ cup curd, ½ cup water and salt to taste. Grind it.
  • Take out grinded batter into mixing bowl,
  • Add ½ tsp cumin seeds, 2-3 chopped green chilli and some coriander leaves. Mix well.
  • Add ¼ cup water gradually and make thin and pouring consistency of batter (refer video).
  • Then heat a pan on high flame and grease it with oil.
  • when the pan is super-hot, lower the gas flame and pour the batter on the pan.
  • then keep the flame on low-medium and cook chilla until the dosa turns crisp.
  • now flip over and roast until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  • enjoy farali dosa with tomato sauce or chutney.
  • .

Making farali appe

  • In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup farali premix, ½ cup curd, 2-3 chopped green chilli, 3 tbsp crushed peanutes and ½ cup water.
  • Add salt and 1 tbsp oil. mix well.
  • Make slightly thick and pouring consistency of batter.
  • Cover and rest batter for 25 minutes.
  • Now add ½ tsp baking soda and some lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Now heat and grease the appe pan with oil.
  • pour the batter into moulds. make sure to add little oil in each mould to get a crispy appe.
  • cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the appe are cooked well. further, flip gently and cook both sides.
  • Farali appe is ready to serve with chutney or tomato ketch-up.
