Til Gud ladoo recipe | how to make til Gud ladoo | tilkut recipe

Til gud ladoo is a popular Indian sweet recipe made with only 2 ingredients white sesame seeds and melted jaggery. Jaggery helps in relieving cough and other cold symptoms usually found during the months of November, December, and January in India when the weather is cold. Ingredients
 

For Tilkut

  • 1 cup or 100 grams white sesame seeds
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts

For til-gud ladoo

  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1 cup or 100 grams white sesame seeds
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

Making tilkut

  • In a pan dry roast 1cup white sesame seeds on low flame till it become crispy. Keep it aside.
  • Now in a mixture jar, add 1 cup white sesame seeds, 1 cup jaggery, ½ tsp cardamom powder and 1 tsp ghee. Grind it.
  • Take out mixture into mixing bowl. add 2 tbsp roasted and chopped peanuts. Mix well.
  • Grease your hand with ghee and roll the mixture into a small round shape ladoo.
  • Serve tilkut, or store in an airtight container.

Making Til-Gud ladoo

  • in a pan dry roast 1 cup white sesame seeds on low flame till they become crispy. Keep it aside.
  • Now in the same pan, add 1 tsp ghee and add 1 cup of jaggery.
  • keep stirring on medium flame till the jaggery melts completely and slightly changes its color. Do not overcook jaggery.
  • Switch off the gas, and add roasted til. Stir well making sure the jaggery syrup coats well.
  • Then immediately roll ladoo with slightly wet hands. Be quick else the mixture cool down and will be difficult to roll ladoo.
  • Serve til Gud ladoo, or store in an airtight container and serve for a month.

Notes

For tilkut
  • Dry roast til on medium flame.
  • The proportion of til and gud should be equal in grams.
  • ghee gives softness to til ladoo
for til-Gud ladoo
  • Switch off the gas while mixing jaggery and til.
  • Make ladoo while its mixture is slightly hot.
