Veg sandwich recipe | how to make veg grill sandwich | street style cheese veg grill recipe

Veg grill sandwiches are quick to make with simple ingredients available at home. It is healthy and prepared with green chutney, special sandwich masala, and different vegetable slices. I also share Mumbai’s special veg grill sandwich recipe which is made with potato masala, chutney, vegetable slices and lots of grated cheese. These two types of veg sandwiches are super tasty and easy to make without any complex ingredients required, and also the best way to finish leftover bread slices. It can be an ideal breakfast sandwich recipe for early morning breakfast.

Ingredients
 

For sandwich chutney

  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • 3-4 blanched palak leaves
  • 4-5 green chilli
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 tbsp roasted chana dal
  • 1 tbsp curd
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp black salt
  • 2-3 ice cubes

For sandwich masala

  • 2 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 2 tsp cloves
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorn
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp amchur powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp ginger powder
  • ½ tsp hing
  • 1 tbsp black salt
  • 1 tbsp salt

For aloo matar sandwich

  • 6 bread slice
  • 3 tbsp Butter or as required
  • 3 tsp Chutney or as required
  • 1 boiled potato slices
  • 1 to mato slices
  • 1 cucumber slices
  • 1 boiled beetroot slices
  • 1 onion slices
  • 2 cheese cubes
  • Sandwich masala
  • Butter to roast sandwich

For cheese veg grill sandwich

  • 1 cup boiled potatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp sandwich masala
  • Some coriander leaves
  • 3 bread slice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tsp green chutney
  • Tomato slices
  • Cucumber slices
  • Capsicum slices
  • Sandwich masala
  • Cheese cubes - as per your liking

Instructions

Making green chutney

  • In a mixture jar, add coriander leaves, blanched palak leaves, garlic cloves, ginger, green chilli, roasted chana dal, curd, cumin seeds, black pepper, and 2-3 ice cubes.
  • Grind chutney into a smooth paste.

making sandwich masala

  • In a mixture jar, add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cloves, black pepper, cinnamon, amuchur powder, chaat masala, ginger powder, hing, black salt and salt.  Grind into fine powder.
  • The sandwich masala is ready. Store it in airtight container jar.

Making veg grill sandwich

  • Take one bread slice, and spread butter on it. Then spread green sandwich chutney in it.
  • Arrange boiled potato slices and sprinkle some masala on it.
  • Then arrange tomato and cucumber slices and sprinkle some sandwich masala on it.
  • Grated cheese on top of vegetables.
  • Take another slice of bread, and spread butter on it. place the bread on grated cheese.
  • Now spread green chutney on top of the bread slice.
  • Arrange a boiled beetroot slice and sprinkle some sandwich masala on it.
  • Then arrange an onion slice on it.
  • Apply butter and chutney on the third bread slice and close the sandwich.
  • Heat a grill pan, and spread butter on it.
  • Place the sandwich on it and roast it for 3-4 minutes on medium-low flame.
  • Serve veg grilled sandwich with tomato sauce and chutney.

Making cheese veg grill sandwich

  • In a mixing bowl, add boiled and mashed potatoes, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, sandwich masala and some coriander leaves. mix well. The potato masala is ready.
  • Take a slice of bread; apply butter, chutney and masala to it.
  • Spread potato masala on it and grate cheese on the top of the masala.
  • Take another bread slice and spread
  • Take another slice of bread, and spread butter on it. Place the bread on grated cheese.
  • Now spread green chutney on top of the bread slice.
  • Arrange tomato, cucumber and capsicum slices on it and sprinkle some sandwich masala on it.
  • Grate some cheese on the top of vegetables.
  • Heat a grill pan, and spread butter on it.
  • Place the sandwich on it and roast it for 3-4 minutes on medium-low flame.
  • Serve cheese veg grill sandwich with tomato sauce and chutney.

Notes

  • blanched palak leaves give nice green color to chutney
  • roasted chana dal gives thickness to the chutney.
  • dahi gives creaminess to chutney
  • use ice or cold water to grind the chutney mixture.
  • make thick chutney for sandwiches.
  • Roast the sandwich on medium-low flame.
