Basically kulfi’s are traditional Indian desserts. It has a very similar texture and appearance to normal ice cream. Traditional Indian-style kulfi recipe is prepared by evaporating thick sweetened milk and later mawa is added to attain a thick consistency. This evaporated milk is later chilled into kulfi matkas or kulfi moulds to have the proper shape.
But To make this kulfi quick and easier way, I add fresh bread crumbs to milk so milk gets easily thickens and reduces the time of milk evaporation. It also add milk powder to make kulfi richer and creamier. These 4 flavored creamy malai kulfi is easy to prepare and is liked by all age group

Ingredients
For kulfi base
- 1 litre milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup milk powder
- 4 fresh white bread slices
For kesar pista kulfi
- 1 cup kulfi base
- 2 tbsp saffron milk
- Pinch of cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp pista badam slits
- Garnish: pistachio slits
For mango kulfi
- 1 cup kulfi base
- ½ cup mango pulp
For chocolate kulfi
- 1 cup kulfi base
- 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
For paan kulfi
- 1 cup kulfi base
- 2 dry pan
Instructions
- In a heavy bottom pan, boil 1 litre of milk for 5 minutes.
- Now, add sugar and milk powder. Mix well.
- Then in a grinding jar, add fresh bread and grind it into fine powder.
- Gradually add fresh bread crumbs to the milk and stir continuously.
- The mixture starts to thicken. Switch off the gas. The kulfi base is ready.
- Now divide the mixture into 4 equal parts.
For kesar pista kulfi
- in a bowl, add 1 cup kulfi base, 2 tbsp saffron milk, a pinch of cardamom powder, and 2 tbsp pista badam slits. Mix well. Kesar pista kulfi base is ready. Fill it into kulfi molds.
For mango kulfi
- in a bowl, add 1 cup kulfi base and ½ cup fresh mango pulp. Mix well. The Mango kulfi base is ready. Fill it into kulfi molds.
For chocolate kulfi
- in a bowl, add 1 cup kulfi base and 2 tbsp chocolate syrup and mix well. The chocolate kulfi base is ready. Fill it into kulfi molds.
For pan kulfi
- in a bowl, add 1 cup kulfi base and 2 dry pan mixtures in it. mix well. Paan kulfi base is ready. Fill it into kulfi molds.
- Cover the kulfi molds with cling wrap or aluminum foil and freeze for 8 hours.
- Finally, garnish 4 flavor kulfi’s with chopped nuts and serve chilled.
Notes
- You can add sugar according to your taste.
- You can use fresh malai instead of milk powder.
- Fresh bread crumbs thicken the milk immediately.
