The key to making tasty bhareli puri at home are

  • Firstly, in puri dough, I used wheat and semolina for equal promotion. Adding rava into puri dough helps to get a crispy puri texture. You can also use maida/all-purpose flour instead of wheat flour.
  • Potato sabzi should be slightly spicy and dry. Some street vendors add small onion bhajiya instead of potato sabzi into a puri.
  • The consistency of dal should be slightly thick and liquidy, so it will easily spread on puri.
  • Salad and spicy garlic chutney enhance the taste of bhareli puri. You can also add green chutney or tamarind chutney with it.
  • Lastly, once the bhareli puri is made, it has to be served immediately.
